I am a certified Health Coach with specialties in behavior change and weight management. I use these specialties to teach people how to transform their ways of thinking, speaking, eating and behaving to foster self-love so they can heal their relationship with food and finally lose weight for good.
Most professionals in the weight loss space are focused on sharing their expertise on diet and exercise. However, I suspect most of you could probably teach me a thing or two about diet and exercise - knowledge isn't your problem. Your problem is most likely a disconnect between your mind and your body. I know because I struggled with the same root problem when I was overweight. If you are anything like I was, then you may WANT to lose weight, but you struggle to:
Until you can overcome these struggles, weight loss is more of a hope than a long-term reality. That's where I step in. I work with you to change your inner dialogue and mindset to develop new, healthier, sustainable behaviors that promote self-love, weight loss, and joy.
If you've battled with being overweight, depression, body dysmorphia, or disordered eating, please explore the various services I provide to help you create a healthier mind and body so you can create your most epic life.
Overweight, depressed, and ashamed of what I allowed myself to become.
Although I could put up a front, I wasn't truly happy, which is proven by my eyes in this picture. I was using food, alcohol, and cigarettes as distraction, comfort, and punishment rather than dealing with life, experiencing my emotions, and holding myself accountable for my own joy.
After a few significant "aha" moments, I decided I wanted a different life. I wanted a life filled with joy, friendships, experiences and laughter rather than depression, seclusion, self-disgust, and pity.
Made the decision to work on the whole package - the mind, body, and the spirit. I started by raising my awareness of my destructive thoughts, words, and actions, so I could start the tough work of changing those towards the positive. I learned that my actions were influenced by my thoughts, which were influenced by my words. So, I held myself accountable for speaking to and about myself with grace and courtesy. With time and consistency, this changed how I thought about myself, which changed how I treated myself. Once you realize your worth, it is easier to love your body with food and movement, rather than abuse yourself with it.
In the end, I lost 45 lbs while gaining self-confidence, self-worth and self-love. That was over 20 years ago.
Let me use the same strategies that I used to change my life, to help you change yours.
