I’ve been there, at both extremes, from weighing 90 pounds in the grip of anorexia to 145 pounds (40lbs too many for my 4'11" frame) feeling trapped and invisible. No matter what the scale said, the voice in my head was the same: You’re not enough.


My wake-up call came in the middle of a forest in Canada. I’d set out on what was supposed to be a bold, adventurous 90km backpacking trip. Instead, I barely made it 9km. The next morning, bruised, exhausted, and ashamed, I turned around and hiked out, feeling like I’d failed—not just at the hike, but at life. I realized then that I wasn’t just out of shape; I was living a life I didn’t even recognize. 


I was hiding, rejecting myself before anyone else could. 


I had created every excuse to stay small (by staying big), unseen, and stuck. And the scariest part? I was the one standing in my own way. That moment in the woods changed everything. I decided I wasn’t going to keep sabotaging my life.


I began to unravel the patterns that kept me stuck. I explored why I numbed my feelings with food, why I punished myself instead of loving myself, and why I believed I wasn’t worth the life I truly wanted. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
